By S. M. Siwinski, Journal-Leader This corporation is focusing on honoring fallen soldiers and their families for the sacrifice given for the many freedoms enjoyed by all in America. Fallen Friend has been involved in this type activity since its conception in 1995 honoring thousands of families with a medal given in the honor of the soldiers who lost their life in the line of duty. According to the organization founder, President and CEO, Bobby Parker, all of the branches of the armed forces participate in this program making the medallion in very high demand. “Bobby approached me many years ago with what he was doing and I thought this was a very good cause,” said Ronnie Fox (of Toyota, Clinton TN) “His organization needed the money and we have decided that we would support him as much as we could." “I wish that Fallen Friend Organization would get much more support from bigger companies, because it is a remarkable cause giving comfort and showing appreciation to the families of fallen American heroes.” He said, “We are going to help him all we can. According to Fox the medallion is actually sponsored by common American people. It shows appreciations for soldier’s ultimate sacrifice by the citizens if this country. “That is why I think it is important for everyone to get involved and donate to this extraordinary Cause,” he continued. According to Parker, Fox Toyota is the biggest contributor to this cause and has been sponsoring the medallions and signs for almost 8 years. “Some organizations give only once -and that clears their conscience for the rest of their life, ,“ said Parker “even though our men and women in the uniforms die daily.” "Many times we have a backlog for the medallions, especially now during the war. It is horrible that this large number of medallions have to be ordered, but it is our duty as citizens to honor those who lost their lives for you and me, Parker said. “It is important to get the medallions on time to the families of the soldiers to help ease the pain and speed up the healing process. Fox Toyota has always been here for that.” Besides distributing a great number of medallions, Fallen Friend is also involved in posting patriotic signs with a message, “America We Did It For You”. (see sign under web link—Heroes). The signs are being placed nationwide and they can be seen at the Veteran Memorials, Courthouses and many other places (schools) to commemorate heroes. The very first sign, was placed at the Jellico TN Veteran’s Memorial Monument in the Veterans Park “Freedom is not free the sign explains that,” said Parker. “Some people paid the ultimate price for our freedom and we are placing this sign as an appreciation for the soldiers sacrifice and to remind all Americans that freedom comes with a high price.” If you would like to send a donation toward the medallions and signs, please send your tax deductible donation to: Fallen Friend Non-Profit Corporation.
