"Symbol of a Nation"
1. The Bell represents our country. Founded on the hopes and dreams that all men could have liberty and freedom from aggression within our home land. To live their lives within the freedoms set down in the Constitution for all people. 2. The Crack represents the differences, between the people of our country, which threatens to divide and possibly destroy our nation. 3. The Hands represents the people. We are a nation of colors in all shapes, size, male, and female. Hands that are struggling to keep division from destroying not only our country, but our daily lives as well. 4. The Bar represents the thin thread which is holding our country together and upon which the hopes of the people within our country hang. In summary, the truth being the truth, we all need each other regardless of the color of our skin, the language we speak or whether we are male or female. If our nation is to survive, we must unite together to accomplish the common needs and goals of all our people by respecting one another and hopefully learning to love one another. Throughout the years, those who fought and died for our country around the world did so without thinking about the differences which divide our country. They united together, paying the ultimate price, so that all people could have the opportunity to live their lives to the fullest as free men and women. We have proven to ourselves and the people around the world, we can overcome the barriers of language and prejudice of color to achieve a common need during wars and disasters. Despite our differences, America still sends forth the rays of hope throughout the world as it did hundreds of years ago. Hope to the people of the world as a place to live in freedom and peace. We must strengthen ourselves, as did our forefathers, to help not only ourselves but our neighbors achieve their dreams also. For truly the bells of freedom and liberty rings for all nations.
